Mohamed Salah is an environmental researcher, political ecologist and activist. Mohamed's work looks at the correlation between environmental policies, resource extraction, questions of justice, and drivers of conflict in different communities around Sudan. As part of his research, Mohamed has examined the developmental argument for hydroelectric dam projects, as well as their social and ecological impact. In connection to his extensive research on the political economy of the Sudanese and sub-Saharan mining sector, Mohamed examines social and environmental impact of mining in Sudan, as well as the formal and informal mining ecosystem , pollution, and the role of armed groups in the sector. Mohamed believes in the central role of knowledge production in emancipatory organization and mobilization. He is a member of the Sudanese demands groups coalition and a PhD candidate at Pantheon-Sorbonne University, Paris, France.
